Acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which involves the insertion of thin, sterile, single use, stainless steel needles through the skin at strategic points. Acupuncture is effective in supporting both chronic and acute conditions. It can be utilized for pain management, digestive, reproductive, psychological, neurological, respiratory, circulatory health ailments, degenerative or autoimmune conditions, preventative health and immune system regulation and so much more. The three fundamental treasures of Chinese Medicine are Jing, Qi, and Shen. Jing, also known as essence, is responsible for growth, development, and reproduction. Qi is derived from food and air and is the vital force that controls the functions of your mind and body. Qi protects the body from illness, just like your immune system. Qi and blood flow through each meridian or channel, and each one of these pathways connects to an organ. Acupuncture can stimulate the mechanism of vasodilation which increases the supply of blood and body fluids to our organs and tissues. Blood and body fluids are vital substances that are very much necessary during the healing process. Blood and body fluids nourish, protect, and lubricate tissues, and are the foundational elements for our bones, organs, muscles, nerves, skin, and our psyche or shen. Shen is our mental, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing. With Traditional Chinese Medicine we can support jing, qi, shen, blood, and vital body fluids, to support longevity and overall wellbeing.
